Themed Week Holidays

You can book in to one of our themed weeks, where you’ll meet people who share your interests and you can get stuck into a slice of rural French life.

These dates are set for a week but if you like the look of a holiday and prefer a longer break please get in touch to discuss your requirements, we are flexible.

Music Festival Week
31st July – 7th August 2010

The Interceltique music festival kicks off in Lorient on 31st July this year and Brittany will be flooded with folk musicians from all over the world.
If this sounds like your scene, join us for a week of music: listening to others, going to gigs, crêperies, local bands and playing piano, guitar and clarinet yourself at Pentaillo.

There’ll be a performance evening at the end of the week, with crepes cooked on the open fire and a chance to perform for anyone who wants to share their talent.

Port to Port 2010
Plymouth 15th - 22nd May
Portsmouth 12th-19th June
Plymouth 26th June - 3rd July
Portsmouth 10th - 17th July

The simplest way to enjoy a taste of France
This week is a classic holiday at Pentaillo with the difference that we come to collect you.
We’ll meet you at Portsmouth or Plymouth harbour, travel over with you on the ferry and drive you to Pentaillo. All the stress of travelling is taken away.

Enjoy a week at Pentaillo with outings, activities, time on the farm, fabulous food and then we’ll take you back again, accompanying you back across the channel.

Art Week
29th May - 5th June 2010

This will be a simple, rhythmic week of drawing, painting and potting including:
Sketching sessions around the farm every morning.
A mix of pottery, painting and photography in the afternoons.
Trips out to a local potter’s workshop.
Visits to art galleries for inspiration.

We’ll also visit the 30 hectare sculpture park near Josselin and some of the local ‘art in the chapel’ exhibitions which go on throughout Brittany annually

There’ll still be time in the week to enjoy the farm, home-baking and explore the local area for those that wish to, but the emphasis will be on arts for all physical and artistic abilities.

Harvest Weeks 1 and 2
4th-11th September 2010
12th-19th September 2010

We have put this fortnight aside for those who love cooking.
If you enjoy a holiday in the kitchen, sourcing local produce, eating and cooking, these are the weeks for you.
Each week will involve different seasonal food as the garden changes through the autumn.

This is the time to get into the orchard, pick the fruit from the potager, forage around the hedgerows and do some serious jam-making and juicing. We’ll be concentrating on cooking nourishing food, with as many organic products as we can pick, forage, or find.

Start the week with a trip to the Sunday organic market at Bon Repos Abbey, to shop for local vegetables and French cheese and sample a few crêpes
We’ll be baking in the outdoor stone bread oven- pizzas and fresh bread
Barbeque in the early autumn evenings
Head home with some new recipes and a few pots of gorgeous jam and chutney

There’ll be a chance to down cooking tools to experience some tourist attractions in the local area, but, most importantly, this is your opportunity to relax and enjoy what the people of rural France do best – cook and share good food.

Autmun Apple Pressing
16th-23rd October 2010

This week we will be harvesting from the orchard. Get up the ladders, pick the apples. Then head towards the kitchen turn the fruit into pies, crumbles, jellies, jams, sorbets. We'll get the ancient apple press running and the wooden apple crusher and make juice and cider. We'll visit a local cider festival and do some juice-tasting. And any left over time you can spend relaxing and exploring the local area.
